About Glenelg North

The housing mix is wide. There are older bungalows and post-war homes on the inland streets, plenty of 1960s and 1970s unit groups, and newer townhouses where blocks have been redeveloped. Homes facing the Patawalonga and the newer apartments near the beach and boat haven sit at the top of the market. Units make up a large share of the stock.

The Patawalonga boat haven and the lake foreshore are popular for walking, kayaking and fishing. Glenelg North beach runs up the coast towards West Beach, and Jetty Road Glenelg is a short walk across the bridge. St Leonards Primary School is on Jervois Street, and Adelaide Airport is a short drive. The Old Gum Tree, where the colony was proclaimed in 1836, is in the suburb.
