About Somerton Park

Housing ranges from character homes and post-war bungalows to large modern houses, with the biggest prices on and near the Esplanade. Many older blocks have been rebuilt or split, so new two-storey homes and townhouses are common. Units are spread through the suburb, giving buyers a lower-priced way in. Rossall Road, Salisbury Street and Byre Avenue are well-known residential streets.

The beach is the main drawcard. Somerton Surf Life Saving Club and John Miller Reserve sit on the Esplanade, and the coastal path runs north to Glenelg and south to Brighton. Sacred Heart College is on Brighton Road, and Paringa Park Reserve is on Paringa Avenue. Jetty Road Glenelg and Jetty Road Brighton are both a few minutes away.
