Marino is a small hillside suburb at the southern end of Adelaide's metropolitan beaches, about 13 km south-west of the CBD. Most homes are owner-occupied, and many look out over the gulf.
Marino's median house value is $1,365,138 after 77.4% growth over five years. Only 26 properties sold in the past 12 months, which shows how tightly held the suburb is.
Houses rent for a median $730 a week, a gross yield of about 2.8%. With nearly 88% of homes owner-occupied, rentals are scarce.
Our team at Ray White Glenelg | Brighton sells and leases homes across Marino and the surrounding suburbs every week. We can tell you what buyers are paying, how long homes are taking to sell and what your property could rent for.
Marino is built on the slopes above the coast, so many homes are split-level or two-storey to take in the views. The housing is mostly detached homes from the post-war decades onward, with a growing number of rebuilds and renovations on the view streets. There are very few units, so sales volumes are low and good homes do not come up often.
The coast is the main attraction. The Marino Rocks Lighthouse sits inside the old Marino Conservation Park, now part of Glenthorne National Park, and the 7.2 km coastal boardwalk runs from the Marino Esplanade to Hallett Cove. Marino and Marino Rocks stations on the Seaford line serve the suburb, and Westfield Marion is about 3 km away.
